Dreaming of the High Desert empty a noblewoman of feudal-era JapanWhen I arrived in Santa Fe, first thing I did was take a walk around the homestead where I was staying for my Artist Residency. The sky was a brilliant blue that went on for miles up and across, the greens of the firs, junipers, and cedar trees contrasted with the neutral tableau of ochre, oxide, grey, lavender, and sage that covered the ground. This visit was the manifestation of a long held dream to spend time being creative in the high desert.
